Craigs pokes u for a nervous kid?

I wouldn’t take her if she is hesitant. As others said, if she balks at all he will not do the piercing so I’m guessing you might walk out again. Also, yes, the appearance of the Arlington location definitely freaked my kid out a bit, along with the many eccentric piercings she saw on others. My kid went through with it but was determined beforehand to have it done.

The piercer saw her starting to freak out and instead of talking to her just rudely said to me "we can't pierce someone who doesn't want to be pierced". We left and went to piercing pagoda in Springfield later that day and it was totally fine. The ladies there were super nice and she didn't shed a single tear.

If your kid was obviously upset and uncomfortable in the environment, you should be grateful to the piercer for refusing to proceed. That seems like a strong endorsement for their professionalism.

Agree. My kid had her ears done there at 7 or 8, and I loved that all discussion was directly with her, not me.

Took my oldest to a tattoo shop and paid a bundle. The starter earrings were really cheapo and she also had an issue with one hole not healing correctly. She abandoned earrings.

Took the second one to the mall - Lovisa. It was completely fine and I'd never spend the time or money going to a tattoo shop again.

The OP is from 2 years ago. Someone just revived this old thread.

I don’t know…but that name is cringey

I’m sorry to report that in the local Arlington neighborhood facebook page, there have been concerns posted about Craigs from a staff member who worked there 5 years.
- cameras in rooms where females were getting private piercings (have since been removed)
- not compensating staff appropriately (high staff turnover)
- staff making fun of kids flinching
- owner acting inappropriately toward guest piercers

We did not have a good experience at Craig’s. We had a great experience at Rowan- they are nurses too.

I have only heard negative things about Craig's. Would rather take a child to Claire's or order the it's on amazon and DIY than go there!!!

That can't be true. Everyone has positive experiences there.

Claire's has always been fast, easy, and clean for our kids.

NP and we had a bad experience there. We actually walked out without doing the piercing and ended up going to a tattoo place that was fabulous.

It sounds like some disgruntled employee is trying to take the place down.

My pediatrician spouse hated doing ear piercings—they do so few a year, why not go to a place that does it successfully every day?
