13 Lives - Thai Cave Rescue

I wish they had focused on the boys a bit more, how they survived the long time in the cave not knowing what would happen to them, what they thought about the whole story etc.

I have no interest in watching a movie about this.

I think this is because the boys were so young (most were 13 I think) and none wrote books afterwords. And I think the coach was just so afraid of being blamed, and hated and probably felt so much guilt. Also he was not a Thai citizen at the time. So none of them really told all the details.

They changed the boys’ names. I read somewhere they didn’t have the rights to the boys’ stories so I think that;s probably why they weren’t the focus (and the names were changed.

From what I remember the last boy out was named Mark, not Chai. And the other boys had names like Night, Titan and Pong. All changed in this version.

I have been skimming through this movie. I couldn’t help myself and fast forwarded to the actual rescue. Wow! So many details and complexities involved and it was riveting! However, I found some of the parts before the actual rescue a little cheesily acted and boring.

The Nat Geo documentary is much better.

Is the movie by Ron Howard different from the Netflix series?

you know what was so interesting to me about Ron Howard's movie, is how religious the people were. And united through that religion. It was so different of a mindset from a secular country.

i remember this story. i was crying. Imagine your own kids stuck in there. people criticized how they were taken out. If it was you, you would plead to get them out any way you can, right. Someone lost their life trying to get out.
Same thing like when you are trapped in a mine. Scary.

I thought the Ron Howard movie was incredible. So well done and really explained a lot of things I didn’t understand when I was reading the news stories at the time this occurred.
