Is it the same OP over and over again who keeps posting/ asking about Catholic schools and LBTQ stuff?
It's been beaten to death already. Yes, it's easy to bash parochial schools, got it . |

OP, my daughter attended Catholic school through middle school and now heading to an all girls Catholic HS.
There were never formal discussions about LGBTQ issues in the classroom. The focus is mainly academics and learning to be kind and how to worship God. In her time there, she came across two girls who were non binary. One left early for another Catholic middle school that also has a HS (6th grade), and the other was by and large a trouble maker and had to be counseled out in 7th. This had nothing to do with her gender identity mind you because she came to our school initially from public because of problems she was having there...lots of anger and mean girl behavior. That said, you can be assured there will be no encouragement from teachers or staff for students to name their pronouns. That simply is not the focus like it is in public schools. Good luck. |
No, my intent is to question the validity of the pp. |
No I’m not my H is a teacher so most of our friends are too. You’re delusional. |
Your right Good Counsel Olney and St, John’s DC are not parish schools. |
| What a waste of time teaching this stuff. China’s gonna eat our lunch in 15 years. |
| You have a daughter and want to give money to the Catholic Church, that is funny. |

Catholic school parent:

The ongoing degradation of the American education system is an under-reported on phenomenon. For whatever reason (though a few of us have ideas) we're definitely falling behind. We've been comparing curriculums lately trying to decide between our options - comparing of a "top midwest public and catholic school" 30 years ago vs what they do in "top FCPS / AAP" and misc privates shows a shocking regression in curriculum. Not to mention a regression in parental involvement. (Or outright excluding parents, which is seemingly top-of-mind for many seeking catholic / christian schools.) Hopefully we'll figure it out sooner than later. OP - to your question it's going to depend place to place. We've just gone through the same thing, and the heads of school are pretty upfront about their views regarding parental involvement and curriculum. If they're not, and you're not getting a good vibe, just move on. Quite a few schools to choose from. |
| If they are actually interested, a reasonable person will contact a school with curriculum questions. Here, it seems that OP just wants to be obnoxious. |
So, school names were provided, no comment ? |
But pronouns are also respected. |
