What EV SUV should we get?

Anonymous
We are about to buy an EV6 after giving up on Tesla. We could not find a Mach e to test drive anywhere or it might be in the running. Liked ID4. The ioniq is a great drive but I hate the styling. The e-tron looks great but my sister’s Audi (not an e tron) is constantly in the shop. Constantly. It’s had one problem after another and she’s always driving a loaner. Makes me leery.

It’ll be a step down in cargo space from
a true suv but I think we’ve just decided that’s how it’s going to have to be.

+1 We have had our Mach E for two months - finally! Completely worth the wait, love it! It’s beautiful, comfortable, and fun to drive.

I’m the id4 poster, which I love, I really do. But, Every time I see a Mach E, I feel a twinge of jealousy…

We looked at the id4 first and were serious about it, but when I tried to reach the salesperson about when we could order AWD (last fall), she never got back to us. Both cars have interior mood lighting which my kids think is hilarious

Also waiting for a BMW IX. We test drove the Mach-E and loved the way it drove (it drove like our BMW X4) but it is too small for what we need right now. Also test drove the ID4 and much preferred the Mustang.

My VW ID.4 Pro-S is great, but it sounds like you’re willing to go way over $55k.

The charging network is way better.

At the moment. That’s changing fast.

I recently got a BMW i4 M50. I love it. great car. The charging network is getting better everyday, so don't let Tesla's charging network sway you.

I did test drive a Tesla. I didn't care for the interior or exterior styling at all.

I tend to use it locally, but I have had no problems finding a charger between here and Massachusetts.

Tesla has said they will be opening up their superchargers to other makes. There is an ongoing pilot program.

That’s good news. Tesla can’t pretend to be about the environmental impact so long as they’re insisting all charging stations host their special Tesla chargers in addition to the chargers everybody else uses.

Anyone looking at the Mach E should look into this issue. https://www.carscoops.com/2022/07/mustang-mach-e-owners-are-suing-ford-over-a-defect-that-leaves-the-suv-dead-in-its-tracks/

We have a model y. Been great so far.
