Some of us are interested in learning more about what happened today at Blair. Which is the topic of this thread. If you have nothing to add about this topic, you are welcome to start your own thread for another topic.

While it doesn't say much that hasn't been mentioned, the HS newspaper, Silver Chips, has a well-written article on this. I expect that this (reliable) source might update the article as new information is available.

I don't know if a teacher was assaulted but there's nothing mentioned about this in this article.

Are you the parent of this author? This is a cut and paste of the principal's updates.

It is well written though

Reading the MoCo Show mention, it almost seemed like nothing really happened. Someone reprted something. They locked down. They reviewed the video, ended the lockdown and dismissed.

Just another false alarm but pays to be cautious these days.

More bull crap. In 2000 it wouldn’t even been mentioned.

So many MCPS high schools are just too big. Heck, the school system as a whole is just too big to appropriately manage.

A comment about "Blair envy" was deleted as well.

True, it seems like there are a few posters who have been trying to hype every incident this past year. Nothing has been out of the usual so guessing they have some agenda.

Disagree it's just perfect the way it is. It's also better run than schools half its size.

Yes, the pro-SRO lobbyists have been very active this year trying to justify these jobs.

+1 Blair parent here -- the school is very well-run.

OP here -- not the writer's parent, and I don't even know the writer. I do see that there were quotes. As a former journalist, what impressed me was the quick post, appropriate use of quotes, and effort to dispel one of the big rumors going around -- that the lockdown was due to a teacher having been injured. All of this was done by a kid who probably themself was in lockdown at the time -- impressive for a HS kid.
