How far do you travel to practice?

We live close-in NoVA. Elementary age DS played AAU basketball on a NoVA team for two years and commute to/from practices was 30-40 minutes each way depending on traffic. Last fall we switched him to better PG county based teams so commute increased to 1 hour + to practice (city and 295/395 traffic ugh) but about 40 minutes to return home. Twice a week. It’s worth the extra time for better coaching and more competitive play plus he’s our only child so it works for us.

It is 13 miles but can take anywhere from 20-40 minutes depending on traffic. It is a lot more driving than our former team but everyone is happier. Plus we have some good conversations in the car. Car talk was part of the deal when I agreed to do the drive

Only if he wants to play in college. I wouldn’t do this to support a hobby.

Can you hire someone like on care.com to drive him/wait/return? Yes it would be expensive.
