I don't eat for 16 hours and only eat during 8. When I started I would eat at 10am and have breakfast / snack then. Have lunch around 12:30 and then I would have dinner with my kids at 5:30 and stop eating after that. I would not eat from 6:30ish pm to 10am the next day.

Now, I don't get hungry until about 12:30 or 1pm. So I eat lunch then and dinner at 5:30. I stop eating at 6pm. I don't eat again until 12:30 the next day.

The longer I have been doing this, the longer I can go. I have not done a 24 hours fast yet, but I think I could do it now. It is more important for me to have dinner with my kids every night, but from a hunger perspective, I am really not hungry most of the day.

Thanks, OP. This is so helpful. I just finished breastfeeding my last baby and I think IF might be what I need to get my diet under control. I have been wanting to try it but I have been either pregnant or breastfeeding for most of the last 5 years.

Congrats OP! I have lost 45 pounds in the last two years (5'3, down to 165 from 210!). It is an awesome feeling!

I have stalled out a bit and am letting myself find a new normal before deciding if I'm going to keep going. I have been working out like crazy and am SO IN SHAPE its crazy, I feel like I WASTED my 20s when I could have done so much more then!

But congrats! It feels so FREEING to be a 'normal' person!
