I also know that 160 is still too much, but for today I am proud of myself.

Wow that is a huge accomplishment. Please share your wisdom and how you did it!

Congrats, OP! That is a big deal and you should be so proud! I started last June at 256 and am only just now down to about where you started (now at 187). I'm hoping to ultimately get down just a smidge below where you are now (155) and then stop.

Hang in there and stay strong, fellow warrior!

OP here

Just turned 40. 5'2" with three kids.

I started in November with intermittent fasting (16/8 but because of work more like 18/6). I did not lose a ton there but I was not hungry most of the time and it really cut down my emotional eating. In January, I started doing Whole30 during my eating window and only eat a small lunch and dinner. That is what dropped the weight the fastest. I have not been able to work out because my schedule is insane right now, so all of this is just from food changes. I did two rounds of strict whole30 with the intermittent fasting and now just mostly eat like that (but allow myself to celebrate someone's birthday or have an ice cream once in a while with the kids). This is the best I have and looked in probably 10 years and I think I can keep this going to lose more. Plus, I am hoping this summer my schedule will lighten up and I will be able to work out more. And, I am honestly not hungry most of the time. I feel full after my small lunch. I feel "stuffed" after a small dinner. I am probably eating a 1/3 of what I used to eat, little urge to snack, and no night time treats. It has worked so well.

Thank you all for the cheers. I know it is weird but it made me feel so good to hear someone celebrate this. It has been hard and hard work and I am proud. Hoping to get down to 150 by the end of the summer..... goals, goals, goals.
Good luck to all.

Well done OP. I am trying to lose 15lbs. Originally I was 260. I had the sleeve surgery and got down to 185. Then k Ed the last 3 years crept back up to 196/197. While I’m happy I’m below 200 I’m annoyed that I had the surgery but got back into old habits. So I’m working on it now, eating more salad and veggies, cut back a lot on sweets. I was 195 this morning and I’d like to be 185 by Labor Day… I’ll never be skinny but if I could be in the 180s I’d be happy.

Well done!

I'm male. Started at 285. Horrified when I stepped on the scale at the doctor's office. Then got the Type 2 diabetes diagnosis and decided enough was enough. I've been working hard since February. Cutting carbs to <125 a day, calories around 1800, walking 5 miles a day. Lost about 35 and endocrinologist put me on Ozempic, which has also helped. My fasting sugar now is around 90-95 in the morning. And this morning (my normal weigh-in day), I was at 227. So, I've lost 20% of my body weight. It's incredible. I feel great. I'm aiming for about 180 (I'm 5'9" but also with broad shoulders and a linebacker's build).

Keep it going, OP.

Oh, the other thing I have done is track EVERYTHING that goes in my mouth. And I gave up alcohol and sweets entirely for three months. I've started reintroducing the occasional adult beverage, but the days of polishing off the better part of a six pack at night are done.

Well done OP! You are my hero! I am about your age and height and am down 25 pounds and I don’t think I can understate what hard work it is for women at our age and height. But we’ll get there!!

You are my hero! I am 196 and i feel like my "real"weight is 140, that was what I was until I hit 35. Two kids later and I am 45 and somehow I am obese. I would be thrilled if I coud hit 160 - I have no false hopes to hit 140 again but if you can do it YAYY you. ANy tips you can share please do!!
