I was just thinking the same thing! My box of six arrived yesterday. Oh well!

I’ve got you guys best. Sitting in Europe with a pile of EMed tests for our Sunday afternoon return. Just thankful we don’t have to spend time tomorrow screwing around with online testing.

Not to be crazy cynical, but has anybody seen something confirming that the administration actually HAS lifted the requirement, as opposed to reporting that they are "expected to" lift it?

This is a done deal. Way too much detail and confirming quotes for it not to be a policy decision that has been approved. Why it needs to be released anonymously at first is for the PR folks to say.

I absolutely get that is how it works and this is almost certainly done. I just think it is odd that we made it all day until 6:00 on a Friday for something that is supposed to happen on Sunday and still no official announcement.

Oh wow, PP!

Safe travels.

I honestly think they caved to the pressure…especially since they will reevaluate every 90 days. Like, that’s so unnecessary. Int’l testing re-entry obviously does nothing…no need to reevaluate.

So silly.

You make a good point. I am happy we won't be caught up in whatever mess comes of this weekend.

Hoping the airlines make it smooth for everyone. From what I have seen, it hasn't been smooth as other places lifted their testing/vax requirements. Agents reading old material on their computers etc.

Pretty sure they have to wait until the Order revocation is posted in the Federal Register.

Great. I’ve now traveled to 2 countries in past 3 months that also dropped the testing requirements for those who are vaccinated, it felt so good not to have to worry about a test. Just one thing less in a long list of to do’s. Glad the CDC is also dropping the requirement and hope it stays like this at least till end of summer.

Yup. This. For sure.

Guys, people weren’t legit testing anymore. I’m certain a large portion of those negative tests were faked. 🤣🤣

I wouldn't necessarily trust that they all tested negative. There's ways to "show a negative result" without necessarily accurately taking the test.

Also, since at least January, most people have been feeling symptoms (and are contagious) for a couple days before testing positive.

Does anyone have a link to an official announcement? I can't find this changed on any govt website which is what airlines will need.

Still got an auto generated email about our upcoming flight and needing to test negative for Covid upon return. I assume these will be corrected come Sunday?? Airlines have zero incentive to require these on their own I would think.
