![]() ![]() Well done. |
That's what was happening in middle school, so in high school they will hold to the syllabus? That's good to know. I was afraid it would continue to be kids asking to repeat the same concepts over and over again rather than moving on, didn't expect teachers to be willing to be so hard case but happy for it. |
Thank you for this. Should we start culling hamsters right now? |
I love that cicadas are accurately 17 years out. ![]() |
You could throw in some mutant oak mites, too. |
No!!!!!! That’s taking it too far!! ![]() |
Your arguments are speculation based on wishful thinking. |
A normal school year in Arlington is mediocre-plus, at best. |
I predict we will return to virtual at some point, even if only for a little bit of time, sometime before 2038. |
Kids like yours generally get weeded out. My 10th grader is finishing AP calc and AP world history and both classes have had a large percentage of kids drop out because they failed out. Next year will be no different with him in 5 APs. Unfortunately accommodating a kid who is very intelligent combined with being a hard worker has cost us money out of our pocket because our public education system is so incredibly bad. |
Isn’t AP world history taken in freshman year in APS? Which school district are you in? |
No, not in 9th in APS. In 10th kids generally do either AP World or AP Modern Euro. |
It depends on the APS school. Freshmen at Wakefield can take AP World. |
Exactly, they should be testing people in so teacher and class haven’t wasted 9th and 10th grade year trying to accommodate the “oh we should have AP courses for college admissions” late to the party students. It’s demoralizing for th teacher and takes away time for the rest of the class dealing with struggling students who signed up on a lark. |
Which school does your kid attend? W-L has AP world history in 9th. |
