Are people OK with having our children slaughtered and forcing women to carry an unexpected pregnancy to term. Because there will be more mass shootings. I mean, why not? Americans are signaling we are A-OK with them by voting GOP, who will NEVER enact gun safety laws.
Im truly baffled.
That's because you live in an urban bubble. Yes, wealthier folks in larger cities are relatively untouched by some of the other major issues. In rural areas and smaller cities, the high inflation is causing many to have to choose between feeding their families, keeping a roof over their head and being able to drive to work. There are people who are eating rice and beans and mac and cheese so that they can put gas in the tank to get to work. There are many people in conservative areas who don't even consider abortions so that's not a blip on their radar, but having crime go up because there's been a large influx of illegal aliens impacts them more. And many of those people think that they need guns to protect themselves and their families from the rising crime rate.
I understand. I live in a liberal area and I am also appalled at the SCOTUS decision to remove federal protections for women's rights. I am a parent who is vociferously anti-gun and having anxiety issues myself sending my children to school. So I definitely understand and agree with your perspective. That said, I can most definitely also understand why people who live in lower population conservative areas feel the way that they do. I don't agree with them, but I can understand and sympathize with them.
