2024 swing state predictions

All I want is to live till the end of this election year and keep my sanity, please no more of these "events" Everything these days is looked at through the election prism, everything is politicized, and we know now these years are extra bumpy. I am tired of the permanent state of crisis of some sort.

I hope you’re right, but Biden won by under 20,000 votes and inflation is bad.

+1. The recent account posted here by the Democratic organizer on the ground in the GA suburbs painted a grim picture for the Dems.

Maybe. But maybe not. Can you link to it as I have no memory of reading it.

And I think the average voter is sick of the GOP’s bullsit. (You have to watch the video to see the relevance to this thread).

I am truly stumped how anyone who is not MAGA would vote for a Republican, especially after the current events. I just don’t get it. Are people OK with having our children slaughtered and forcing women to carry an unexpected pregnancy to term. Because there will be more mass shootings. I mean, why not? Americans are signaling we are A-OK with them by voting GOP, who will NEVER enact gun safety laws.

Im truly baffled.

I think PA has a decent shot of flipping blue

Dunno about Georgia turning red - seems like Republicans there nominated a very weak candidate, and Warnock seems like a pretty strong candidate. Candidate quality matters. You may get a split vote there where Kemp wins and also Warnock holds his seat. (I hope.)

Is someone strong running against Mark Kelly in AZ? I feel like moderate hero astronaut husband of Gabby Gifford is a pretty comfortable spot, unless there's someone great running against you or people are really just really wanting to get Ds out of office (which they may be!).

No I wasn’t. But things have gotten exponentially worse.

That's because you live in an urban bubble. Yes, wealthier folks in larger cities are relatively untouched by some of the other major issues. In rural areas and smaller cities, the high inflation is causing many to have to choose between feeding their families, keeping a roof over their head and being able to drive to work. There are people who are eating rice and beans and mac and cheese so that they can put gas in the tank to get to work. There are many people in conservative areas who don't even consider abortions so that's not a blip on their radar, but having crime go up because there's been a large influx of illegal aliens impacts them more. And many of those people think that they need guns to protect themselves and their families from the rising crime rate.

I understand. I live in a liberal area and I am also appalled at the SCOTUS decision to remove federal protections for women's rights. I am a parent who is vociferously anti-gun and having anxiety issues myself sending my children to school. So I definitely understand and agree with your perspective. That said, I can most definitely also understand why people who live in lower population conservative areas feel the way that they do. I don't agree with them, but I can understand and sympathize with them.

The Atlanta suburbs may go blue, but not the rest of Georgia.

One hundred percent. I was not shocked because.... American politics. But you can be sure that 2020 went the way it did because of extremely high motivation to prevent trump a second term and the dangers that posed

This kind of nonsense drives me insane. I’m a liberal who grew up in a small town of about 10k and a lot of my family and friends were straight up rural. Do not try to “understand and sympathize” with these people. They’re not all poor morons who have been left behind; they have made the deliberate decision to partake in propaganda. Most of them have plenty of money.

You are falling for their propaganda. They are not more real than you or I; I can assure you that they do not spare you an iota of understanding or sympathy.

I cannot stress how much propaganda these people have consumed, in church, in their schools and now on television and the internet. They are fascist and they love it.
