Did your Kindergartener ride the bus?

Of course my kindergartener rides the bus! (Have you seen school drop off lines? Just kill me now.)

Have him do it from day 1, otherwise it is confusing and *that* causes anxiety.

My kid had a 20 min bus ride and I didn’t mind the extra time for my day.

But I totally agree this is a place where you have to begin as you mean to go on. If you tell your child the schoolbus is how to get to school and they are part of the orientation for new bus riders (such as it is) they will do much better than if you change course on them in two weeks or two months.

We are starting a private school which is 15 minutes away and I intend for my Kindergartner to take the bus. Hopefully the school will share the contact info for a few K/1 kids so we can schedule a couple of playdates over the summer.

My 5 year old is starting K in the fall and she can’t wait to ride the school bus! I signed her up, it has never occurred to me that she’d be too young (6 in November). Our neighbor’s daughter is also starting K and they will be riding together. The bus stop is actually right in front of our house on the street and the school is a 5 minute drive in the adjacent neighborhood. When the kids are a little older most ride their bikes through the neighborhood to get to school.
