Confused—wealthy white women want supply of non-white babies?

IVF's going to be outlawed in a lot of states due to how they are writing their laws. I'll pray for you

We need to sustain our population either through having babies or importing people. This isnt for wealthy white women, but for everyone. We will be in serious troyble as a nation, unable to sustain social security, unable to raise enough tax revenue, etc if we dont have more babies. To me, its an economic issue, not a racial one.

"Clinically" speaking, we'd be better off importing people. An immigrant has already demonstrated that they will work hard to better themselves. A child born to a mother who isn't prepared to raise one is a statistical risk, for the mother and the child. So unless SCOTUS are planning to force these women to put their kids up for adoption, it's hard times all around.

I do t think the point is to import people who want to better themselves. Businesses want cheap labor.

Why do white conservative women wants babies of color?

One idea is they they can raise conservative POC and, in the future, have kids who can appear “diverse” while carrying out the conservative agenda.

Cheap labor wont expand tax revenues. We should be seeking high income potential immigrants.

But some are saying it’s ACB and her People of Praise or whatever that want a supply of babies for adoption is part of rationale for banning IUDs and condoms. I thought affluent infertile women just went to fertility clinics. Maybe it’s just some randos on Twitter spouting off but they are citing historic examples of white women taking indigenous and black babies. Why would they do that?

Look, I don't know anyone who is against abortion so that their friends can adopt babies. That's just not the logic. There are many couples out there who want to adopt, but that's a side benefit, not the reason for being against abortion. I can only speak about my immediate circle of friends, which is largely Catholic, but I personally know about eleven middle class and upper middle class families who have adopted children. Some of these children have been older, harder to place children (through their teenage years) and some have been babies. Very few of the adopted children have been white. Some of the babies have been exposed in utero to various substances and the parents knew this before adopting. A few of my Catholic adoptive mom friends have Ivy degrees, btw.

OP here. I’m Catholic too. My daughter goes to an extremely conservative Catholic school. The majority of them have very large families. They pray Novenas, pray 24/7 outside the “local abortion mill” for one month of the year, take the yearly trip to the pro-Life rally in DC and routinely refer to abortion as murder in school assemblies, even with the lower grades present. And they are staunchly against birth control. We went to weekly mass at the church affiliated with the school for a full year so our daughter could attend their formation program.

They are right in the demographic to celebrate the Supreme Court overturning Roe but only ONE of those families has adopted a bunch of kids and they were from Ethiopia and Ukraine.

So back to my original question, who are all the people who are looking for large amounts fresh American babies to adopt? I don’t see them. I think PP who said conservatives want to create a felon class for cheap labor that can’t vote is probably right. I just don’t know where this baby stealing stuff is coming from.

As an adoptive mother, I 100% agree. I adore my child but the absolute real long term impacts faced by the birth mother, my child and others in the adoption triangle is real. To think that a bunch of white old men who have probably never been in the same room with someone who has been adopted are even bringing this up, is disgraceful. Not to mention the costs - if they are serious about this, start offering 100% tax credits for all adoptions. Give me my 40k in adoption lawyer fees back and years of therapy for everyone because my son's birth mother did not choose abortion.

+1. So what if the population is declining? We can't even provide basic health care and adequate housing for the people that we do have. Not to mention the environmental effects.

Why would rich white women be interested in creating a supply of non-white babies to adopt? I thought it was less likely for a non-white baby to be adopted than a white one? If these whites women are infertile, wouldn’t they just go to a fertility clinic? This is 1940 anymore.

Doesn’t make sense to me.

If they want non-white babies it's racist!

If they don't want them, it's racist!

No matter what they do they are racist!

I don’t understand how people can argue the Earth is overpopulated in one breath while saying we need to sustain our population levels in another? China and India have 1.5 billion people each. U.S. has 330 million. UK has 67 million. Maybe their populations should be lower.

If it’s a problem of who will run the factories in Iowa - pay the 60,000 homeless in LA to relocate and start jobs in granaries, on farms and in plants.

The world is de-populating right now. Even India and China are facing issues. China’s population peaked in 2015. India is only at replacement rates. But population growth should be independent of the access to abortion. It is the responsibility of any woman to have a baby for other people to raise! It’s a choice that belongs to that woman. People who can’t have kids, sorry but that’s your problem.

No, it is not their problem. It is God's will

I don’t believe in god. But you can’t dump your infertility issues on another.

I can’t type this morning. Gonna go have more coffee!

It's God's will that they have no children. They should look at themselves and ask why that is. And find different mating partners. You know that's their right.

God gave us all kinds of medical knowledge and procedures to co troll our reproductive lives....like ivf which has helped thousand and thousands of families have a baby.

God also gave us safe methods of aborting unwanted babies. And contraception.

Many people gave up on adoption when it became harder to adopt healthy white babies without the potential interference of the birth mother in the kid’s life. Less people would feel compelled to commit the grievous sin of IVF if they could go down to a mother baby home and leave that day with a healthy white infant. The tens of thousands of dollars that are currently going to the IVF doctors would instead go to the Catholic Church and other religious entities facilitating the “adoptions”. The ever grateful parents would raise their kids in the church. The 1950s-1970s were the glory days of the Catholic Church in America, and no doubt what they are trying to bring back now that their own attendance is in the toilet and many people feel they lost any moral credibility long ago.

Roberts bought two children from Ireland himself. Who knows what their mothers were subjected to.

Immediate PP- I also agree with the theory they are trying to recreate a permanent slave underclass for all the non White babies. “States rights” really only means one thing in America, which people would know if they read some CRT books.

I read an article a few years ago that said a lot of the pro-life push came with money from for-profit adoptions agencies, which haven’t been so profitable since Roe.

I remember thinking it was interesting, but has a conspiracy theory feel to it.

Agree. We have been given more and more ability to take charge of our reproductive lives and that is a gift. These conservative old men need to find a more productive way to use their time and energy.

The whole adoption thing is a way to justify taking away a woman's freedom to decide whether or not to have an abortion. ACB talked about it in her confirmation hearing. I have heard that in some circles a few adopted kids is a status symbol. Adopting brown and black kids is a way to Rebrand themselves and then being able to send them to private schools is just the cherry on the top. Again, ACB at hearing talking about her adopted kids as if she recused them from some sh!thole country.
