My dogs also eat "tea." We lived in England when we got our first dog. He was served tea at 4, when my kids ate tea ( light supper.) We got another dog about three years after and so they both had tea. We moved here, and each dog learned it was tea time from the previous dog. ...fast forward 30 years. We all have tea now. It's also why we are Mom and Dad to all of our dogs- because that's what our kids called us. No kids at home now, but like the word "tea", we never had first names. Re: feeding schedule I would look again at this study. Bloat is often prevented with smaller meals or the ability to graze. |

As a lab owner the idea of this is so foreign to me |
| We only feed our dogs once a day |
I have a picky Golden Retriever who will do this and it's been the most shocking thing about him. I think in our case he hates all dog food and will "hold out" as long as possible for people food and only eat the kibble when truly very hungry.

Our dog not only gets tea but also gets elevenses like a hobbit. It started during the pandemic because he was constantly begging for food so we just stretched it out. He is very attuned to the clock and knows exactly when it’s time. He would be so depressed if we cut him to once a day!
He is super happy whenever we walk near his food. He also gets 4 walks a day. What else is he supposed to do with his time? When I’m retired I’m going to live like this too, alternating eating with walking and maybe some bird watching. |
