Haha - mask mandates have continuously failed, and you want to force mask kids again. Sick, sick people. Thankfully none are reinstituting them, except crazy Zero COVID universities that try to eliminate cases at the expense of college kids' education and mental health.

Kids education and mental health is impacted if they get sick with covid or their families do. Masking is a basic precaution. Multiple layers of precautions are important.

Precaution to what? Testing positive? The what? People who are vaccinated aren’t showing much if any symptoms. Only a small number of infected get I’ll and those are elderly and the sickly. Just like any infection does to them. That’s why they should stay out of hospitals or sick wards.

My friend’s otherwise healthy niece is currently in the hospital due to COVID. My neighbor has had sun pints for weeks and remains ill. Stop spreading misinformation.

Data is more powerful than anecdotes, in any field or argument.

Minimizing the virus and suggesting it’s no more than a cold minimizes real life experiences, plus fails to take into account long-term impacts that are now well documented.

Hope your bunker is keeping reality out well for you.

I’m not in a bunker, but I am wearing a mask when going to indoor venues. Wish others would continue as well. Cases are increasing exponentially right now. Lots of kids out at our school.

The problem is that the cat is out of the bag. Back when few had experienced covid, people ran around scared and were willing to take precautions. At this point too many people have had covid to continue masking and limiting their life. We also know hundreds if not thousands of people who have had it and everyone is back to normal. It’s hard to believe the long covid articles when everyone you know is perfectly fine.

You’re fortunate then because I personally know 3 people who died from Covid.

As they should with the outbreak in the lower school.

The chances of a healthy child being hospitalized because of COVID are less than them being hospitalized from the flu. Stop spreading misinformation by not contextualizing the minute risk.

Funnily enough, I was thinking about this the other day and must admit I know no one who died of Covid, either first hand or second hand.

That’s awesome. Which school is that? I need a school like that due to high risk family members.

I sadly know many as well. Five. Parents of young kids. 😔

Lab school is back to masking starting tomorrow. Likely temporary due to an influx in cases.

That was an autocorrect fail. Should read symptoms.

We need to mask up for the foreseeable future. Even if Covid goes away there are so many other benefits like reducing the seasonal flu and other communicable diseases.
The kids have not been complaining and adults should grow up!

You are insane. People have these things called immune systems. Healthy ones are exposed to all sorts of viruses and keep the body healthy and functioning. Long-term masking and living in sterile environments is dangerous.
