| Are vowels popular? |
| We gave our girls names that were distinctive, but unfortunately they were easily combined into a group name. Thank Brangelina. Their friends thought this was hysterical and called them this for a very long time. My advice is to choose names they cannot easily be combined in this way |
| They're all really pretty, but I'm going to vote for Yara and Leila. |
|
Only Layla
Love Amira |
Then I’d pick Aaliyah and Imaan, as you seem set on Imaan, and he seems set on Aaliyah. |
| Any except Aaliyah because of the strong association with the dead singer for Americans. |
+1 |
Imaan for sure since you both like that one; flip a coin for whether to pair it with Leila or Aaliyah. |
|
Leila and Aaliyah
For Aaliyah, I like the nn Aly or Ali. Leila and Ali sound great together. |
For girls, yes |
Not this child's generation. |
|
I like Yara and Leila best, but if they sound similar (two syllables with "uh" ending), I guess Imaan should replace one of those.
Now, I have met a Leila pronounced as three syllables lee-EYE-la. If that's the case, then I think Yara and Leila could go together. |
| Mash'allah OP! I like all these options. In English though I would consider spelling it Aliyah instead of the double 'a' to represent the 'ayn. Also with Iman, Americans will say it the same regardless of if you put the double 'a' to represent the alif. |
| Op here. Thanks for all the helpful feedback! We've decided ,( for now if DH doesn't change his mind again,) to go with Leila and Imaan. |
| Very lively choices, OP. Congratulations! |
