LOL—both Docs and Birks are good for your feet! So maybe the goths and hippies have more in common than we ever suspected.

My husband was a Docs guy in HS and college and is now a Birks guy. One of my sons now wears Docs in winter and Birks in summer. Maybe the healthy feet singularity is upon us.

Since time immemorial, beauty has been a source of human happiness. I'm not advocating, say, foot binding-level of torture to achieve beauty, but pretending beauty is irrelevant to a fulfilling life is sad.


You know what's sad? Gnarled toes that resulted from wearing "beautiful" shoes. I see it, even if you never wear open sandals anymore.
