Mini van or full size suv?

I wish Mazda made a minivan. The CX-5/CX-9 drive better than basically anything in their segment and I bet a CX-Van would do the same.

They did! You could even equip it with a six-speed! Unfortunately, it was discontinued in 2015 because Americans would rather buy soulless crossovers with loads of black plastic cladding. Sigh.

I ❤ my minivan. Can fit so many kids and so much stuff. We once did a month long summer vacation with 3 kids, 5 bikes, a canoe on top, a month's worth of clothing for each of us (spouse worked remote 2 of the 4 weeks we were away, my parents joined us those 2 weeks as all 3 kids were under 10).

Kids now much older and I still love my van. The only ones who think a minivan isn't cool are people without kids or people who haven't had one.

It received a “poor” in one of its safety metrics. I think that may be why people chose other minivans.

This is the correct answer.

I love my minivan too but its old. New ones are outrageously expensive (over $50k pre tax if you want a decent trim package - my current fully loaded one was $40k including tax) and are also so wide they don't fit through 8' garage doors. So we are forced to pick something else and it will obviously have to be an SUV.

I have a Mazda CX-9. Drives like a luxury car compared to many SUVs.
