+1 I also stopped at 2. I'm starting to doubt whether I do the flu shot next year.

This year, the flu shot was ~20% effective. I stopped at 2 Covid shots and I will most definitely not be getting a flu shot next year.

I had two shots and Covid (very mild)
Not a chance I will get anymore a this point in time. If the next variant is much worse, if the shot is changed to work better, if it doesn't cause bizarre inexplicable reactions that are ignored and people ridiculed, it if has proper trials.. then maybe one day.

I'll take it without hesitation. Straight into my veins.

I take a flu shot every year, it's no big deal. Add a COVID shot every six months, just fine with me.

When modern medicine presents me with a miracle cure, you can be darn sure I'm not going to pass it up.

I finished chemo for breast cancer in January and asked my oncologist last week if I needed the 4th booster (I got the full 3rd dose of Moderna for immunocompromised people back in October). She said no. That was enough for me.

I'm not opposed to indefinite boosters, but 3 full doses of Moderna is good protection and if I had my druthers, I want my booster to be updated and more strain-specific (Omicron, etc.) rather than just piling in another dose of the same thing. The evidence isn't that clear that 4 is appreciably better than 3 for a immunocompetent person.

It can't be healthy for the body to get 4 shots of the same drug (or varied version) over a one year period.

No way. I wouldn’t even consider another shot until they’ve changed the formula to address new variants. What is the point of a 4th shot that targets a 2.5 year old version? Would you get a 2.5 yr old flu shot? They promised us ground breaking, easily edited vaccines and now apparently just want us to ignore that.

Novavax is expected to be approved for EUA soon, and that has fewer side effects compared to the mRNA vaccines. Maybe that can be administered as a booster.

This. Now it’s like shut up and keep taking these shots.

Guess you don’t have any children. The immunization for brand new immune systems, ie babies, is much much more than four shots.

Yeah but you know when you start the shots how many the kids needs. They aren’t new vaccines and have been around for ages and are for diseases that can really really harm children. It’s not like you’re going to find out in a few months that you thought you only needed 2 rounds of the polio vaccine but really you need more. In fact when we first received the covid vaccine most people thought it was 2 shots and done!

I don’t know the history of the polio vaccine, but I imagine they tweaked the dosage in the first years after its discovery. Covid is a brand new virus that continues to mutate. It will take awhile to figure out the protocol.

Yeah but other vaccines have gone through many years of trials to ensure it’s safety and effectiveness. We need more data on the boosters, so far what I’ve seen says it’s effectiveness doesn’t last long.
