DD is struggling with getting the APs in, as she feels inferior bc she simply can't handle the amount of work and studying on top of IB requirements and ECs.

This is all a bit confusing.

Is there any benefit to taking 4 HL exams? I think 3 HL and 3 SL sounds like plenty. Do kids take the 4 HL just for college admissions (to be a stronger applicant)?

3 HL and 3SL is fine. Not sure if taking 4 HL really gives you a leg up.

Thanks! I’m the person who asked this. My kid is doing RMIB for the challenge and the peer group. Not because she’s worried about college admission, etc (UMD is fine). Sounds like the IB is enough of a challenge on its own, without adding in extra!

TOK is a requirement to get the IB diploma.

If RM is your home school, you can take IB classes without getting the diploma. Otherwise, I don't think you can stay at RM if it's not your home school.
