Whats up at Holy Child?

Would you say "grow up" if Morehouse College hired a white president? Do you think Gonzaga or Georgetown Prep would ever hire a female president? NEVER. But parents are "whiny" if they expect a Catholic all-girls school to hire a Catholic woman in a leadership position? This is nasty and disparaging to those who expect a Catholic school to actually reflect the values they "claim" to preach...
Additionally, how is it when a parent asks a question on this post they are immediately dismissed as someone with an axe to grind or trying to get other families to decline admission. Ridiculous! If you are not knowledgeable about the community in question then don't comment!

Work on the analogies..they don't apply. The head of school is a Catholic woman. By your thought process, all the young ladies that play sports should go to a school that has a male head coach....I'm sure they'd turn down the full ride...

A MAN - Stacy Stoyanoff. He is not Catholic. Anyone at the school can confirm. School clearly going away from Catholic tradition not sure where.

This is outrageous. Why would a Catholic school hire a non-Catholic head of school? If the school moves away from its Catholic identity, where is the value of paying $40K a year? Georgetown University did, but they at least have the academic reputation to pull that off. And looking at his background, he was involved in production of assessment materials for IB. Not sure what that adds to the mix there. Disappointing.

Maybe because these schools pay staff very little and no one else wanted the job.

If tuition is 40K a year... Do they pay staff "very little"?

This is interesting. Clearly someone in here very defensive about HC. My daughter graduated in the COVID class of 2021. Her experience was generally good. However, to any newly admitted parents, we would NOT recommend HC at this point. It is no longer a Catholic school, and truth be told not totally all "girls" either. Wokeness running rampant over there and its ok to be "transitioning." Very little emphasis on traditions like March for Life and Holy Days. Tuition rising higher and higher and many teachers have left in the last year. Covid has definitely played a role, but HC definitely in a new era. LOTS of expensive administration in positions that never used to exist. Will take a couple of years to see where HC lands so we are relieved to be out.

So are you saying boys that are transitioning have been admitted vice versa?

we are considering HC. Would like to hear more about the education and facilities. Do kids stay through HS? Do some go elsewhere? Where?

Did Stacy leave Holy Child? Seems like there's a lot of turnover there these days. Just saw this in the Parish Times.

But he is Catholic and even attended a Catholic university, showing a commitment to those values.

Isn't he also gay?

We looked at last year and I didn't get a very Catholic feel from the student body. We attended a function and found many families were not catholic or one parent catholic. We turned down the invite, looking for a more catholic experience.

Do you have to identify as female?

The most unappetizing things about HC based on this thread are the ignorant, bigoted posters. I hope they’re not real parents. Yikes.

How dare they try to teach Catholic Doctrine at private Catholic Schools. It is a good thing HC has put an end to that.

Did you take a poll at a social event asking who was Catholic and if their spouse was?
