Belief in witches marks someone as a paranoid schizophrenic?

Yes.

No , but a pastor who accuses women in his congregation of being witches is certainly crazy.

This is insane and I do not understand how anyone can take this seriously.

I am not googling Greg or clicking the article. If I recognized his name or org, maybe. Do you attend this church, op?

Not OP but the guy has millions of followers on social media, is a huge Trump follower and held a book burning that made national news. He’s not just the preacher around the corner.

OMG! This is the craziest thing that I have ever heard a preacher say. This Locke guy needs to be admitted into a mental institution before his psycho behind hurts somebody.

The sad part is that people follow him and believe in his delusions. Religious folks like Locke produce more psychologically damaged, beyond repair people into society. Are people so weak and desperate for religion that they are willing to follow an individual that is mentally unstable?

That’s untrue. First of all: there are people who call themselves witches. At least one on this thread. Are people who call themselves witches schizophrenic? No.

A person who believes witches exist in the world is correct.

Whether the women this man is referring to are “witches” is not proven. Could they be? Yes? Could they not be? Yes? His statement that they are does not meet any of the diagnostic criteria for his diagnosis by an anon internet poster as schizophrenia.

Anon internet poster is simply expressing an opinion. Here's another: The pastor certainly sounds crazy.

Doesn't matter if the women are proven to be witches or not. Doesn't matter if they are good witches, bad witches or not witches. It's crazy to accuse people of anything for which you have no evidence and no right to make such an accusation.

A diagnosis of schizophrenia has to be made by a specific type of medical professional (perhaps several working together) and meet specific diagnostic criteria.

The term “crazy” is not used anymore to describe people with mental health issues. Nobody chooses schizophrenic behavior.

This type of attitude stinks. Do better.

Noooooo she used satan to tempt him. Not his fault.

According to pp, belief in “witches” equals schizophrenia. Lots of schizophrenics posting here!

There are “real” self described witches who have a certain set of nature centric beliefs. This preacher is using the word witch to portray certain women as malevolent, possibly with supernatural powers and with strong ties to the devil.
