NYT The Daily podcast had an episode on Democratic gerrymandering yesterday: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/03/31/podcasts/the-daily/midterms-elections-redistricting.html

I fundamentally disagree with their argument that gerrymandering on both sides is okay because representation balances out on the national level. I think that disenfranchising local communities, even if partisanship is represented accurately at the national level is still undemocratic.

I agree with you. And it actually leads to more extremists on both sides.

I agree with you. And it actually leads to more extremists on both sides.


As they said, the Supreme Court had a chance to get rid of this chose not to, and Congress can’t pass a law against it because the Republicans are opposed. This is actually a pretty good outcome to have so many Democratic wins that the field will be pretty close to fair - as they said as fair as it has been in the last 50 years.
