| It’s funny how all these PPs are saying their “pits” are such great dogs and then they go on to list the dna results showing: golden retriever, beagle, hound, Labrador, this, that, etc… I’m sorry but your dog is not a pit. It’s a mutt! (and I love mutts btw). |
It’s not just the jaws. It’s that pits were bred to kill and maim. That’s their sole purpose. First it was bulls and bears, then it became dogs, but that bite tenacity, that total disregard for their own safety, that “gameness” - that’s what makes them so dangerous. A German Shepherd can and will bite, but it will also let go. Pit bulls don’t. That wide joker smile? That’s an adaptation that allows them to keep getting a smidge more air while they’re clamped on to a victim and fighting. So… I guess enjoy your pit bull-not a pit bull. I hope that the negative attributes of that horrendous animal have been washed out of your dog’s gene pool. Age three is about when owners say their “oh so sweet” dog snapped. |
Ok what would make a pit in your mind? Because when pit mixes attack they say they are pit mixes not 20 percent pit. |
Well "God" you aren't in charge! And most people do neuter or spay their dogs. You are a horrible person. |
| I don’t think adopting pit bulls is a good idea. But 40% is not a pit bull. |
Pits and pit mixes have spay/neuter rates cited as low as 20%. It's a huge part of the reason there are so many of them. |
This Why are people so dead set on celebrating a breed of dog that kills children? That’s America for you. |
Oh well. Not happening. Cope. |
Don’t feel sorry for her. She loves her sweet dog. Pity you and your tiny, closed mind though. Must be tough. Hugs. |
Humans with guns kill more children than pit bulls ever do. should we ban all humans? Do all humans kill? Same with pit bulls. Not all pit bulls are bad. https://www.childrensdefense.org/state-of-americas-children/soac-2021-gun-violence/ |
Yeah, I was going to point out that is they were all spayed and neutered, why is nearly every rescue dog part pit? |
No, we should ban guns. duh. |
| Either it’s such a small amount it’s not noticeable and therefore not as potentially deadly if it bites, OR we do know we are just not saying so. |
|
Mine is 10% pit. Big surprise!
Sweetest girl. |

No one is suggesting that a pit or a pit mix that is already owned by someone, is fixed and hasn’t had a bite incident be destroying. What a ban would would be to destroy the abandoned ones and ones seized from illegal breeding or fake rescues not following the ban.
You would go to the shelter and be able to get a non pit dog or a dog with less than 50% pit. Unless you really want to own a pit bull, this doesn’t harm you but it does protect others. |
