Don’t even think about buying Breakstone’s Sour Cream. God knows what the manufacturer did but they ruined it. Any generic store brand is miles ahead but Fage or Daisy for the win! |
I am having the same issue. I like breakstone also because of the thick consistency, but lately it has been hit or miss. I buy the 2% four pack. Sometimes it is the way I like it and other times it is just too watery for me to eat. I might write the company or just start trying other brands. |
The sour cream is not good - Fage is my #1.
I’ve already responded twice on this thread about my love for Breakstone’s 4% cottage cheese individual packs - it is the same consistent texture every time! |
Breakstone was a staple on our house growing up. I'm now 54 and haven't bought this brand in many many years. I just bought the 4% large curd, and man am I thoroughly disappointed! I took one bite and had to look to see if it's expired! It's gritty! The curds are definitely not "large". Absolutely not what I remember growing up! I usually buy Daisy large curd and it's delicious. Suppose I'm going back to Daisy. I don't understand why these companies insist on either altering their recipes or completely lasing on quality control. I can't image they'll be around much longer if this is the sort of product they're putting out. Such a shame... |
I have always made our own. It's not hard to make and tastes 100x better than anything in a US supermarket. |
For cottage cheese, go with Good Culture. It's the best, and always consistent. |
Once I finally found the product , which used to be my favorite, I was disappointed to see it was so runny! The taste is also not what I remembered. What happened? |
Breakstone's is awful. I only like Daisy. |
