Is Pyle too big for a quiet kid?

My kid was pretty devastated but remained friends with one or two from the group, separately. The 2nd girl went into therapy and dropped out of the school completely.

All the "popular" kids from ES merged to form one enormous "popular" group. It was substantial.

Other than that she did ok. She got straight A grades in every class the whole time she was there and was able to take some strong HS courses as a result.

Have heard this from other families, and I'm really sorry for your DD. The great thing is the school is so large there are many many other groups and individuals your child can befriend.

Nope! Our daughter is a quiet kid who has thrived there. Perhaps because it IS so big its easy for her to sort of blend in. She has her small group of friends and they do everything together.

The size is overwhelming for many kids that age. My kids did well academically but struggled to find their group in such a big environment. And no, there was nothing wrong with them as a pp suggested.

I thought size didn't matter...

They get used to it. There are plenty of very quiet, introverted kids who just find their place.
