Concert at 9:30 Club for 16 yo?

Crowd age totally depends on the band. I’d think Girl in Red would trend younger…Probably not a ton of 30-something’s. There are two bars along the side of the bottom floor and one bar along the back upstairs. When I was there last month, you got a huge stamp on your hand if you were old enough to drink. Teens without a fake id wouldn’t be able to buy alcohol. I suppose they could sneak it if someone bought it for them, but that would be hard to pull off. Plus, as I said above a few, not as many people have been drinking at shows since Covid, so that would probably make it even harder. Plus, if you’re picking up from the show, then your teen would have a harder time hiding anything. Or maybe they can. I wasn’t that kid and my own kids are still in middle and elementary schools, so I don’t know the tricks. |

| I started going to 9:30 at age 13, so yes! Agree they are among the strictest when it comes to underage drinking. I find Black Cat to be quite strict as well, not sure about the PP’s rabbit Warren comment. Especially now that it’s just upstairs there’s not really anywhere to go? Anyway. I think it’s fine as long as they have safe transportation to/from. |

I think it’s fine esp if you do pickup /dropoff — my kid did Cap 1 at that age and I agree the larger venue would have me more concerned than 9:30 or Black Cat. If you aren’t comfortable you could go and hang out in the back (and I’d just tell her if things get too close up front to move back because there is always space).
IME there is not a lot of drug or alcohol sharing at 9:30 |

| My almost-15 y.o. will be at that show. I'm fine with it, and I've been to a lot of concerts there and other venues. A plus is that this show is fairly early; doors open at 6. |
