Intimacy on vacation with kids?

Anonymous
Ewww. I could not concentrate on enjoying sex if I knew my 12 year old was literally right outside the bathroom in a hotel room. Plus, you don't think the 12 year old has some idea why mom and dad are in the bathroom together taking a shower? That's just a major ladybonerkiller!

The thought just dawned on me. We will be heading to a resort for SB. Our kids are older now (10/12) and I’d feel comfortable kicking them out to wander shut so I could spend some time with my wife. I was just thinking about how my parents would load me down with quarters and send me to the hotel arcade as a kid! Is there a modern solution to this problem or are we just going without?

After almost 20 years of marriage, Vacation mean vacation from everything!

I'm sure many moms would agree with me.

Why are the hubbies always looking for ways to sneak up on your panties? LOL>

Ha ha. While kids are young a vacation is not a vacation, it is a trip with kids. My kids are close in age. We always had a separate bedroom for ourselves. Kids could sleep in the living room on a sofa bed if it was only a one bedroom apartment or condo. Since you say there is no privacy I have to assume you will be in a hotel room with two kids. That is very tight. Unless you are at a resort that has a kids club or some thing I think you just have to realize it’s a week without and make better plans next time

Our kids are around the same ages and we started getting suites or adjoining rooms LONG ago. It often means staying at less expensive hotels/locations or using VRBO. If we can’t afford 2 rooms or a suite, we consider that vacation/location unaffordable for our family. I don’t want to have to sneak or send the kids away etc. Too much hassle.

But yes your kids should certainly be able to go out and entertain themselves around the hotel, at their age! Give them some $$ and suggestions, and tell them to come back in an hour or two. Surely they have phones. No big deal.

I don't see this happening. Libido is libido.

You have the guts to admit what many will never say “out loud.” Sad but true.

I would not just tell my kids to walk around somewhere so I could have sex--not least because you don't when they'll show up again. See if the resort has any supervised activities or a kids' club.

Lemme guess - you are the wife.

+ these kids are too old for you to be sneaking into the bathroom of a standard-size hotel room.
Suite or Air b&b next time.

Also get two rooms

Yes, this is the last year you can send the 12 year old to most kids clubs!

Do it after they are asleep, be super quiet, and finish before your wife climaxes so there is no noise from her.

That would happen exactly once in my household, and never again. And I'd be sending Daddy out with the kids allllll the next day while I lounged poolside with a cocktail and not a care in the world.
