And its possible he did in fact see her play, even if he wasn't specifically scouting her, he probably goes to a lot of games and knows a lot of club coaches.

Also, I don't know about lax specifically but in some sports (swimming lets say) he could simply take each name that ticked the "interested in swimming" box on the GC mailer and enter the names on the USA Swimming site to find out what team a kid swims for. Basic recruiting diligence.

People also videotape games, may have seen here play on repeat later from a video someone else recorded and shared. Granted the lack of specificity may raise suspicion. All she has to do is say where did you see me play and what did you think I did well and what could I have done better to see if he would be a good coach for her.
