Who will you support for MOCO county executive?

Not Elrich. I think his days are done. The only reasonable candidate is Blair.

Unless Elrich reinstates SROs, I’m voting Blair.

Blair. I'd rather give an unknown a chance than continue with the same characters who lead this county down the path of destruction.

Definitely not Riemer. He has shown nothing but contempt for constituents since he's been on the council. His constituent services is nonexistent, and he usually just checks his phone and posts on social media during the public testimony parts of council meetings. Regardless of how good his policies are, I see county government being even less responsive with him in charge.

I’m not sure yet, but as an independent I will be registering democrat in order to be able to vote in primary.

Glad I’m not the only one who’s noticed.

I actually changed my affiliation to Dem from Independent last year just so I could vote for Elrich in the primary.

Not because I like him - I can’t stand him - but because he’s what MoCo deserves. MoCo residents need to be punished for giving us the uniparty political landscape we have in the county right now.

Elrich is horrible, and he’s exactly what the voters of this county deserve.

And I'm a left wing Independent registering as a Democrat just to vote for Marc Elrich.

I'm usually registered I (or unafilliated) but that doesn't mean centrist. I'm to the left of Democrats, like Bernie Sanders except moreso. The Democrats don't do anything for me. I'm voting for Elrich because he's not really a Democrat either.

Well they are getting the government they deserve. We just had our first school shooting in history.

Sincere question with no intended snark: What has Elrich done that you support? How has Montgomery County benefited under his leadership? I ask because I genuinely don't see it and I'm interested in hearing viewpoints.

Blair. I work for the County and the other 3 are awful. I mean, I cannot stress that enough. I'll take a chance that Blair might not be as terrible.

FWIW, IMO Hucker would be the worst. Kind of a toss-up between Elrich and Reimer.

I’d vote Blair if he actually answered questions, explained his position on important issues and clarified his relationship with Silverman and Empower Montgomery.

I think a lot of people like me are willing to give him a look in but he raises too many red flags that he could easily clear up in 10 minutes if he wanted to.

Fellow county employee here and agree 100%. When you see stuff from the inside, it’s horrifying.

Agree about Hucker in particular. That Bethesda Beat article about his not wanting to take public campaign financing because it takes away money from first responders? You’d think the man knew nothing about the county budget. Oh, wait.
