Beware of Johns Hopkins Fertility

NP here. JHU Fertility is really the worst. It's a factory with bad nurses and physicians. Regret going there before changing clinics.

WTH? John’s Hopkins is literally closing their clinic “for the holidays.” So you better get your period by December 1 or you need to wait until the new year. This place is trash.🗑

That is typical of JHU’s arrogant approach to their patients care.

Almost anywhere else would be preferable.

Totally. Hopkins fertility is so badly run and seems prone to errors.

Hopkins residents seem to be unsupervised a lot.

Multiple failed attempts and then success “on the first try” elsewhere is not an objective indication that a clinic is of poor caliber.
I’ve also heard people say they failed multiple times elsewhere “only to then succeed at CCRM.” The reality is, that success is rooted in the NUMBER of attempts (by the third, fourth, or fifth try). Multiple attempts increases odds no matter where the successful attempt ends up being. Most people statistically don’t succeed on the first try, anywhere. If it ever appears on paper as if they do, it’s because of batching multiple cycles and then transferring once normal embryos are identified. If your friend succeeded on their first try at SG after failure elsewhere, it’s more likely due to being the 2+ attempt.

I have two babies from my clinic and I still think they are horrible and would not recommend them to anybody. They blocked me from my records I needed to receive appropriate care to cover up the F up of their RE. Then I made the mistake of telling the OB who did my repeat C section the name of the RE and he lied in my C section note to cover for his doctor buddy. What my RE did could have killed me and/or baby.

Walter Reed is pulling the same sh%t. They won't schedule anyone and it isn't even December 1.

I remember reading bad reviews of Johns Hopkins fertility 10 years ago when I was starting fertility treatments. Their statistics were abysmal back then. Seems nothing has changed.

JHU Fertility tries to ride on the coat tails of JHU’s excellent hospital in Baltimore City.

The two share nothing in common beyond the name. It is the last place I would consider for fertility care.
