What an insipid analysis devoid of any original thinking. Oh my Republicans and Democrats are the same, the media is failing us blah blah. |
Still sounds authoritarian. |
What is hilarious is that the progressives insist on one hand the "CRT is not in schools" and then absolutely lose their minds when someone bans it from schools, an order that they claim would obviously ban nothing at all... |
Really? It’s not in school and yet you crazies are banning it. This is just a republicans tool to enforce hive mind thinking. They will go through the school and punish anything that does not conform to Fox News and Tucker Carlson. |
This point is coming up because this is an institutional Republican talking point. The reality is that the GOP has become a radical pro-authoritarian party. But the best way to hide that and tamp down criticism is to say "both sides are the same" The rightwing media – Fox which is the most popular cable channel, the Murdoch WSJ, huge rightwing talk radio network, the regular top-shared outlets on Facebook like Daily Wire – push this point like crazy. This poster you're quoting seems to be fooled by all those lies from rightwing media. |
If it isn't in schools then you have nothing to be bothered about. Obviously there is no problem here. |
These aren’t extremists-it’s giving CHOICE back to citizens. I don’t need the government making decisions for me-I can do that myself. Dems don’t like giving citizens to think for themselves-dems want to control what I think, and how I should act. You want to wear a mask-go for it! But, don’t impede on my decision to wear or not wear one. |
The republicans are the ones who are banning books, constraining speech, and banning abortion. So, no, they're interested in letting citizens think for themselves or live their lives free of interference. Nice try. |
+1 |
Only among those of a limited sort. |
Ummm, Youngkin campaigned on promises that he would sign the very executive orders that he signed yesterday. I don’t understand, whether you agree with the orders or not, how you can say there was some type of media effort to hide what he intended to do. He did what he said he was going to do, Isn’t that what people want politicians to do? |
Huh? The media has lied throughout history. Muckraking? Walter Kronkite? This isn’t some institutional talking point or new thing? It’s factual. I don’t watch the news or even have a Facebook. Why are people surprised that media is a business. |
Also I think what you’re saying is that Fox News is saying CNN lies. But if they are, it would stand to reason so does the right media. You’d have to be an idiot to believe one but not the other. And Vice verse. Fox is trash and so is CNN. I don’t watch trash. The media has always lied and embellished. Media is a business not in the best interest of the consumer but it’s advertisers. |
The problem is what they are definiting as CRT. Which is not actually CRT. |
