Agree. We sold a 2006 Honda CRV last year. It was a workhorse.

+2 OP where did you get this idea? How old are you and what is your situation? What do you know about cars?

I did the math is $289 a month, that why I am thinking of buying a new one

You did call it a Curse...

The annual repair bill is only going to go up from here and your car will just keep getting older. How much do you drive and will you need to finance?

We also have 2016 and a 2020.

We got a new car just before Covid- a 2019 RAV-4 Hybrid.

I am hoping to get an electric vehicle when the Prius dies.

In 2017, for a dollar, we sold a 2000 Honda Odyssey to friends of our sons so that they could drive to GMU. It is still on the road.

Wow, you sound like us. Spouse drives a 2009 Prius. I replaced my 2006 Ford Escape hybrid with a 2019 Highlander hybrid just a few months before the pandemic shut everything down. We donated the Escape to Vehicles for Change.
We are considering replacing spouse's Prius with an electric, but since we don't drive it much (about 85K miles on it in the 12 years we've had it), it will probably last forever.

Still loving my 2005 Prius.

Recently sold my 1997 Camry, which still likely has a few years in it.

Why on earth would you think a 2013 car would be the oldest?? That’s ridiculous. Now that my 97 Camry is sold, I drive a 2010 Honda. My spouse drives a 2014 Camry. given how long the 97 Camry lasted, I’m guessing we could get another 18 years or more out of the 2014 Camry.

No. I have a 2003 PT Cruiser with ~30k miles on it. I’ve, knock on wood, done nothing to it but tires, brakes, and routine oil/fluid/filter changes since I owned it. It’s ugly as sin and a general piece of crap, but it’s paid off and it’s mine and it gets me from place a to place b.
