HS health class over the summer

I agree, but counselors are emailing kids to register now.

That’s what my 9th grader is doing. They’d rather do short sessions over 2 summers than lose an entire summer to a boring class, anyway.

I'm curious what they are adding into the extra semester. The one semester was basically nutrition, exercise, sex ed, and mental health. (My oldest did it last summer online and had the experience that PPs did - it was boring, fair amount of busy work, not particularly well taught, but not hard.)

When I was in HS, I took it over the summer but my school district didn't offer it so I had to take a college level course that was designed for nursing students -- it was really hard with a lot of factual specifics about blood pressure, heart rate, first aid treatments, blood types, diseases, etc. It was interesting but I think it brought down my GPA.
