| Bishop Ireton is going virtual next week. |
I think it is very realistic. What is the plan for when teachers test positive? The exponential growth is crazy and if a group get it as once, who is going to cover the classes? |
The poster was trolling. They got you! |

Please, please no hybrid teaching/learning! That was the worst! That just might do me in! I would consider quitting!

Figures. |
I’ll bite. What’s your backup plan when massive numbers of kids and your colleagues test positive? We just shut it all down, no learning at all? Other teachers are on the Catholic school threads talking about limited staff to start, and tiny sub pools. I get that. So then what’s the answer? We ask the smart kid in the class to teach math? We tell half of your class that’s home with covid to just catch up when they can? How? What if you are out by the time they return? |
What does that mean? Are all the diocesan high schools going virtual? |
Either in-person or virtual. Hybrid teaching was the last straw for many teachers. How many have left the profession? Answer: too many! |
No, just the liberal ones. |
What's the tipping point to go fully virtual then? 5% 10% 25% 50% |
🙄 |
Not irate, but concerned. Have you been following the numbers in the zip code? A lot of families had to change plans this week due to positive tests in vaccinated older kids (and these kids have younger siblings and cousins). Some are still having trouble getting tests. source: https://www.arlnow.com/2021/12/30/new-another-covid-case-record-amid-huge-lines-for-tests/ |
Not my call. Above my pay grade. -Underpaid Catholic School Teacher |
My student who goes to O'Connell got an email saying to plan on coming, in person, next Monday. I am sure this could change...but that's the word today (12/30). |
I hope that you got to rest over Christmas week. Thank you for teaching kids like mine (wherever you do that). |
