Taking your foot off of the brake as you approach an intersection is a defensive driving technique taught by the National Safety Council in their defense driving courses. I know because I recently took it.

I was wondering how long it would take for the usual DCUM aggressive driver to show up who claims people who drive defensively are the dangerous ones.

Huge difference between this (being ready to brake) and slowing down/braking.
Did this class tell you that your #1 priority is to be predictable?

My kids and I were hit by a speeding SUV in a store parking lot. My infant was thrown into the air before crashing to the ground. Somehow we all survived with only contusions, bruises, and scrapes. It was very traumatic for my kids. The driver was texting and said she never saw us at the crosswalk.

That is horrible! Hope the driver lost her license and was jailed for a long time for attempted murder.

Testing and driving must be stopped entirely.

Type A's don't bother me as much as the others. They are actually paying attention and trying to get to their location efficiently. Better than the people driving 10 under the speed limit off in lala land or on their phone.

It's the type of people. It's as simple as that.

We went out to Oregon/Washington a few weeks back. It's INSANE how much more chill they drive out there, especially Oregonians. Like absolutely 1000% more noticeable how much less aggressive and assholish they drive out there. The DMV is filled with cesspool, type As who all think they're god's gift to this earth. DMV is filled with selfish entitled aholes. Just very, very terrible people. It's as simple as that. Utter scum of the Earth around these parts. No wonder it is reflected in the way they drive.

Were you actually in a crosswalk? I'm a pretty cautious driver but I get very frustrated at people who wander across the street either completely away from a crosswalk or when the 'stop do not cross' sign is on. I'm shocked more of these jaywalkers don't get hit.

Every intersection is a legal crosswalk, whether it's painted on the pavement or not.
