In short, OP, your DC can say they have a college degree but it’s not going to open any doors outside of South Carolina

My DC is a senior in the international business program- this is not his experience at all. This program has opened TONS of doors for him and he's gotten several full time job offers already with major companies (not in South Carolina). He had two great internships, too. From what I hear about his other IB buddies, it doesn't sound like his experience is unique at all, either. I think your experience may be outdated.

Congrats to your kid, I know the international business program is amazing. He has a great future. And isn’t the pompous ass the PP and her kid from the private NE college.

Her take is that academically it is same in that some super hard majors and some super easy majors. Rigor is more around the major than the school. Has had 2 friends go to USC for nursing and then not get in when applying, so be aware. Clemson football weekend was insanely fun and everyone she knows there is very happy. At USC, the city/bar scene was more fun and there are a fantastic amount of student clubs to be involved in which can greatly impact experience. Friends have mixed experienced at USC. DD probably has close to a dozen friends at each school across variety of classes (freshman, etc) and majors except mostly boys at Clemson and girls at USC.

On balance , would you say Clemson kids happier?
