I don’t know. Curious. It’s great if she’s living out her dream. But it’s her dream. |
| Every year a lot of players are going to declare for the draft. I don't think this is really newsworthy. |
|
Because not everyone leaves behind two years of eligibility. Try to keep up with the conversation.
|
I'm also in the who cares camp. This is not newsworthy at all. It's entertaining to see opinions on someone no one knows and event no one cares about. |
| She was the ACC offensive player of the year. If you don’t care, why comment?? |
She’s going to have to move in with mom and dad on that salary. |

Someone mentioned that she go her degree a year early?
1. In what? 2. Where is the proof for the claim (just curious) Her bio sheet says undeclared She’s a soccer stud. No question about it. But she’s from Texas. None of us know her. Playing three years at UVA doesn’t make her a Hometown hero. She has the pedigree to do well in the NWSL providing she stays healthy and doesn’t get frustrated at that level. Leaving behind college to make money is fine as long as you got the degree. So hopefully she did |
Nah, in the NWSL most rookies live with their coaches. |
|
Misogyny alive and well on DCurban Moms. Sigh. I get the reference but it doesn’t mean it’s right.
|
No she has to play against that level and see if she can be productive. Lots of college stars do not bust a grape in the pros. |
| What is wrong with you people? Like Pavlov’s dog whenever someone says “UVA.” |
Lighten up Francis, it's not meant to be right, it's meant to be funny. |

This thread has taken such a weird turn. As a PP mentioned, if she doesn’t have her UVA degree, she can get it later. Many pros go this route. Not sure why it matters to anyone what her degree is in. Also, she may be from Texas, but she’s attended UVA for three years. It’s entirely possible that she’s friends with posters’ kids. And why would she need to be a hometown hero for us to take an interest? I follow Catarina Marcario’s career despite never having met her because I loved watching her play for Stanford. She’s someone who also left college early, and now she’s playing for the USWNT and Lyon, living the dream. I wish more people were rooting for these women instead of criticizing them and being patronizing about their life choices. |
| What’s the difference between a player going pro and making 35,000 a year or a college student getting a full ride at 35,000 a year? |
