There is a huge difference between college and the NWSL. Speed of play, technical skills and just straight out speed are another step up.

They only take the top players. A star in college can be just another player in the pros.

Currently, the minimum player salary for the 2021 NWSL season is $22,000 and the maximum player salary is $52,500,

Very confused by your post. Are you saying that a person can only be considered “retired” if they receive a pension? The vast majority of American workers retire, or if you prefer, “stop working” with no pension in their future. I imagine that when this young woman retires from or stops playing soccer, she will have plenty of employment options in or out of the sports world. And I very much doubt she’ll regret her years of playing.

Plenty of Americans don’t retire without a monthly income earned over years of working and savings
