Name the charter. Was it Halloween? Why are they quarantining full classes?

I won't name the school, mostly because I don't like how you asked.

How would we know if it was Halloween? We can guess but there is no way for parents to know how non-identified kids got Covid.

Why? Because that is their policy. Kids move around the rooms during the day and they can't really determine who is a close contact and lunch is done by classroom.

DCPS doesn't quaranting whole classrooms. As long as the kids are wearing masks it doesn't count as a close contact. During lunch I think it would just be 3 ft.

I've heard. Charters obviously have their own rules.

Yes. Good numbers first 8 weeks of school. All a sudden lots of positive tests.

We have had whole class quarantines at our DCPS for PK4 and when the teacher tested positive.

sorry yes I missed a word - DCPS is not routinely quarantining whole classes the way some charters appear to be doing.

We've had a decrease in cases from what I can observe. No notices sent out in a while.

we continue to have zero cases found by the asymptomatic testing program.

If Europe is any gauge (they have higher rates of vaccination), we are in for a tough winter.

Nope! We have had a decrease. There have only been a handful of cases. We are at a NE DCPS school and I’m glad we left our charter for this reason alone. They are strict and tight with the masks, plus a number of other rules. So far, it seems to be working well for the school.

My DC attends a DCPS secondary school. After random spit-in-the-cup resting, how long does it take to get results. I assume result is communicated via email. Is family informed even if result is negative?

Results are usually available by the next morning. You won't get an email if results are negative, but your school should have information available about how to create an account to access/view all results.

Among kids they do?

Thank you. So I’m assuming we will get an email if the result is positive?

Right, you'll get a notification if the test is positive. If it's negative, results will be in the portal but you won't be notified by email. So no notification and you can assume negative.
