For the first time since school opened, our DC charter school has at three grades in quarantine this week due to positive COVID cases. Has anyone else seen this at their DCPS or DC charter school? I'm wondering if this is just a localized thing at our school or if others are seeing something similar that might indicate an more widespread uptick, perhaps due to Halloween activities or colder weather or more people congregating inside.
Our DCPS didn't test this week because Tuesday was a day off - so I'm not sure.
Mundo has cases right now.
no known cases at our DCPS is a few weeks...
DCPS doesn’t generally quarantine whole classes.
OP--Your nameless, anonymous charter school is handling this wrong.
Yes. I suspect halloween is culprit.
My school just went from testing about 1 student per class to testing 5-6 each week, so I'm sure there could be an increase in positive cases detected.
Been trending down at my school.
One positive that I know of at our ES yesterday.
We’ve had I think 5-6 cases total at our DCPS ES since school started. They’ve been scattered, no clusters. I think the last one was a couple weeks ago? We’ve never had to quarantine. I think the school testing is lackluster but I kids are being tested a ton outside of school because they are pretty religious about sending kids home with symptoms and not allowing back without a negative test.
not at our charter.
What school? |
Our school has two different PK4 classes out (in ECE, the whole class has to quarantine for a positive); there was a bit of spread in one, but none in the other.
Could it be siblings in three different grades? That was the only time more than one grade was quarantined at the same time at our school. And is was weeks ago.
