I’m the socialist PP from earlier and I’m insulted. Apparently the workers movement has been reduced to UMC pasty white people wearing cotton masks. That’s what socialism has become? Rather than any actual wealth redistribution or collective action against concentrated power. |

Good. Now we all have the freedom to do what we want and that's what TP wants. I might even go there to get my groceries now.
It's like it's almost not about freedom to decide as a community, and about doing what conservatives want everyone to do. |
The populace votes for the city council and mayor, just saying. |
|
You're so stupid sometimes it's not even funny.
The wait-staff is much more exposed than you, the patrons. It makes sense that people working in high-exposure job should keep their masks on, to protect themselves and protect the patrons. But no, you want to make this about serfdom and class war. There is no eye-roll big enough for you, truly. |
LOL but the class war part is just a side effect. The ant-science stance is the the s h I t main course and the class war is just a diarrhea chaser. |
| I feel like none of these critical posters live in TkPk, and that's just how it should be! No one here cares. We're happy to wear masks to respect employees and the community. Don't like our norms and extreme values? Ok. Don't live here I guess! |
Why should I? I’m vaccinated and not sick. The question is, why don’t all the workers rebel and take off their masks in the name of science and sanity? |
Because they...don't want to? Because people have different opinions than you do? Because they can still get COVID if exposed even if they're vaccinated, and even if they aren't super sick they can transmit to others who may get very sick? Because they're a rule follower? Because they want people to know they take it seriously? Because they know it may impact their business negatively if they don't because *some* people will walk out? (Yeah yeah, not you, I know.) Because they're not vaccinated? |
Really? How do you figure that? There were more than 100 people in the room, guests and wait staff combined. So why are the servers more at risk than the party goers, who were drinking and dancing cheek to cheek? Do you even realize how ridiculous you sound? |
Great. Well I DON’T want to wear a mask, and I rarely do anymore, even when back in DC. I know some of you love masks and hate to see the pandemic end, but you’re just going to have to deal with the fact that the world is moving on. |
GrEaT AdViCe, ThAnK yOu FoR ThE tRuTh! HaVe a BleSseD dAy! |
| I think the Health Ministry of the Union of Socialist Parks of Takoma is in a pissing contest with their Tree Ministry that requires everyone to submit to all sorts of red tape and fees for every single tree they may want to cut down on their own private property. The Health Ministry is showing the Tree Ministry, 'Oh yeah! I can still require masking even though it flies in the face of current epidemiology!'. |
Because the image bothered you. That's what you said. So you could have put a mask on. How do you know how the workers felt about it? |
The posters here are suggesting the Takoma Park instituting a city-wide indoor mask mandate. It's not clear me that that is what the tweet is saying. I doubt the City Manager can do that. The City Manager can, however, probably continue requiring masks in city facilities. |
Science says masks save lives. Science says masks help protect against COVID. Which science are you following? The one made up in your head? |
