Cheaters! the harm is done to players from red team and just for a medal that worths nothing. Also there is a difference between how Academy pools work vs what Arlington and other clubs with no academy format do. Academy teams share the cost of the tournaments so every player team A and team B pay the fee. This means that player from A or B have the right to ply in tourney. While those clubs that don’t have the academy format are misleading the cost to their players from team B when they have guest players from team A.

I wasn't there, but I'm skeptical of the claim in the first place. My DS played for Arlington for several years and not once, as far as I am aware, did an academy rostered kid play on the red team. There was some talk at one point of the academy kids playing on the red team if they didn't make the academy roster one weekend due to too many kids - but I never saw it actually happen.

So the only way I could see this occurring is if the red team had an ECNL-R game scheduled at a very similar time and both opponents didn't want to reschedule. In which case I think fair is fair.

Arlington does it all the time, I have 2 kids at ASA and it happens.

BS. This is not true.

There were ECNL players playing - easily confirmed not only by patches on jerseys but also via rosters on ECNL site that includes pictures and jersey numbers. Not to mention kids on Barca team have friends on Arlington red team.

I don’t think it’s cheating like PP, just not sure why they felt it was necessary to bring down ECNL players.

The patches on the jerseys don't prove anything. You only get patches in the ECNL post season so these would have been awarded last year. And the 03/04 team combines two years' worth of players into a single team, so inevitably some of last year's U17 academy team end up on this year's U19 second team still wearing the same shorts.

I continue to think this is highly unlikely to have happened. Why would Arlington do this?
- It's pretty clear that they would have won the game easily without playing any ringers.
- In many years of my DS playing at Arlington I never saw anything like this.
- It likely would upset the regular red team players and parents, who are paying customers.

On the other hand, there are many reasons why posters would make up lies on this board.

ECNL u19 Roster #10, #11, #17, #24, goalie all stand out as legit ballers who played that game.
