Loudoun parent here. Paid $2500 and no additional fee. We did buy new uniforms this year and of course have our own travel expenses to cover. |
| The local clubs are fleecing ECNL parents. |
Not really. Herndon for example charges $2100 plus team fees and that’s to play CCL. That’s in line with valor and others. It’s the cost of living in NoVa. |
That's a fair statement. We'll hash it it out now and then at the end. |
OK, Herndon and local ECNL club parents are fleecing parents. I fixed it for you. |
If something’s not actually broken, you are not fixing anything. Stop saying that. It’s wrong and suggests that you possess intelligence, when you actually own only a great deal of arrogance. |
$2100 is getting fleeced? who charges less than that... and for what? I have one kid at a big club who pays less than that but the cost doesn't include tournaments or winter futsal, and they pretty much don't practice in the winter or summer. I have a kid at a smaller club who pays a bit more than $2100 but has practice year-round, 4-5 tournaments a year, and winter futsal. Also small club has one extra practice a week. The higher-cost club is a much better value for our money. If I had to guess, I would assume that ECNL teams are paying a premium for the most highly trained coaches and that they participate in more (and more expensive) tournaments than other teams. I used to be a treasurer for a team and, if you see a budget, you'd understand how a team can easily get to $2500 or even $3000. And the budgets I oversaw had coaches who were paid $1000-$1200 per month -- no one is getting rich off of this. But clubs and teams pay a lot of money for everything in this area! |
Loudoun ECNL coaches are paid 40k per team. |
| Well, that explains the higher cost for ECNL. |
no, they are not. trust me. |
40k is a lie, that’s not true |
$2100 for non ECNL is expensive. After travel expenses etc will end up above $5000 |
huh? non-ECNL teams do not have $3K in travel expenses! |
|
I have had kids at two of these clubs and these prices don't tell the whole story. Without knowing what's included it's meaningless. |
