I am (jewish, but) obsessed with advent calendars this year. Want me to send you one? I keep looking at all the different ones. I ordered the Dolly Parton one from WS for a (jewish) friend of mine who loves Dolly.

Ask her. I would not want someone cleaning my house. A gift card to a local carry out I like would be appreciated.

Goldbelly delivers fancy food from all over. I would love some Montreal bagels or something from a favorite NYC restaurant/ bakery. Flowers are always nice. Organic beeswax candles, lavender bath salts, floating bath tray, and some snacks as a kind of take a bath and unwind present.

Me too, I think this is a great idea. The Bonne Maman one is another treat.

I sent my sister a small-ish box of cheese, crackers, charcuterie from Zingermans earlier this year as a thank you for taking care of some family stuff. It went over well.

No. Never give smelly gifts to someone, unless you know for a fact that that is the brand and scent they already like. I have a couple of things I like, but I hate 95% of scented things out there. It’s so personal.

It’s a nice gesture for people who made the choice to do this.

Spoiler: There’s no single mom in this story.

She is not a single mom. She has money. You don’t down a ton of ideas.

Send her a damn card and call it a day. She needs a sitter and a spa day.

Can’t agree. I’ve received body wash and candles from friends, for housewarming gifts or birthdays, with scents I had never tried before and loved them.

Oddly I am also a Jewish single mom who loves advent calendars and Dolly. We should form a meet up.

Something fun like taking care of kids so that she can sleep in late. DH is not in so may be a good sex toy, rabbit or other stuff.
