What is so appealing about Phish

I like the Ben and Jerrys flavor they inspired but that’s about it.

I read somewhere that their music is pleasing to those with anxiety, repetitive beats and choruses, long rifs, etc.

Would that be a Philet o’ Phish?

It’s where divorced Jewish dads go to relive their glory days and meet a new young girlfriend.

Plus, drugs.

So much so that they were about to sell out MSG for 13 nights in a row. No other band has ever done that. So its about much more than just drugs. I have tons of friends from the scene, and none of us do drugs at shows.

It's about more than drugs. But let's be honest - that has a lot to do with it. They're incredible musicians, and decent songwriters. They don't sing well live (and the studio vocals are unremarkable). Trey loves himself and his solos are 10-20x longer than they should be.

It's too bad that so many ignorant people are chiming in on this thread. It really is interesting how such wimpy music led by a really unappealing guy (and let's not get started on Mike Gordon) has been so successful for decades. Worthy of discussion.

They have a whole SiriusXM channel dedicated to them. They are pretty good, but not not for striving tight asses.
