Just realized all the presidents send their kids to Sidwell

People here who are not that old remember that before Clinton, Sidwell was not that special or well known outside DC. Chelsea totally changed how people perceived it.

This!
We have had a lot more presidents than Clinton and Obama… such a strange post.
And how can OP say “all”, and then follow it with “except” examples? That is the definition of “some”.

Try not to obsess over the kids OP.. They did not ask to be in the public eye

Big 15?

Caroline Kennedy attended Stone Ridge.

Johnson's kids attended DCPS, Murch Elementary, before NCS.

Caroline Kennedy never attended Stone Ridge (she attended K in the White House) but her cousin Maria Shriver did attend Stone Ridge.

Bush’s son went to St. Albans and his daughter went to NCS. He was also on the ncs governing board. Gore’s daughter went to NCS and son to STA for a few years.

This article lists the big prep schools and who famous went there: scroll to the bottom

Sidwell Friends

Albert Gore III son of Al Gore 2001
Chelsea Clinton daughter of former president Bill Clinton 1997
Oleg Alexandrovich Troyanovsky former Soviet ambassador to the UN 1937
Bill Nye TV’s “science guy” 1973
Doug Gansler Montgomery County state’s attorney 1981
Charlie Gibson host, ABC’s Good Morning America 1961
Tricia Nixon Cox and Julie Nixon daughters of former president Richard M. Nixon 1964 and ’66

Al Gore III was kicked out of STA over marijuana use and the Gores got Sidwell to take him in. I well remember when it happened.

Correct, Caroline Kennedy was registered to attend Stone Ridge before ... they moved to New York.

The Clintons toured Deal when they were first moving to DC and the Secret Service apparently rejected it; doubtful they would have actually sent here there in any event though.

I think Susan Ford went to Holton.

I recall this was reported in news stories at the time.

Really? Do you have a cite?

Obviously, security issues were important (eg, Biden's grandkids were at Sidwell) but where is the reporting that they preferred GDS?

NP
I don't have a citation immediately, but I also remember this being the case.

Yes. It is a security thing.

But, I'm old enough to remember Amy Carter going to DC public school.
