Workplace accomodations

Workers with physical disabilities are allowed workplace accomodations so they can do their work. What about workers with mental disabilities? How severe does the mental disabilities have to be? Are coworkers also allowed accomodations based on their coworker's mental disabilities?

Can you switch offices if your coworker constantly does a lot of distracting things because of their disability? What if they don't have a formal diagnosis?

Read the part about what the employee should do.

If you are unable to do your job because someone else is distracting you, talk to your supervisor. It's none of your business whether or not that employee has a diagnosis or has asked for an accommodation. It's up to your supervisor to deal with this and help create an environment where everyone can do their best work with reasonable accommodations.

Thanks. Not sure what I'll do because what do you tell your supervisors if the coworker hasn't been diagnosed and thinks their behavior is normal.

OP the diagnosis or lack thereof is not your business. You will sound nosy and unprofessional to even mention that to your supervisor. What you need to do is come up with concrete examples of the specific behaviors that affect you and make your job difficult, and ask your supervisor for assistance in dealing with those. If it doesn't directly affect your job, don't mention it. So you would say something like, "Three times in the past month, Hilda has told me she would have these reports done. Here are the e-mails in which she agreed. Then when I asked her about it, she said she had no idea what I was talking about. I was not able to complete my project without the reports." Be concrete, be specific, and leave the personal stuff OUT of it.
