As one of those people who was called names and denigrated as an alarmist loser, I’m glad you’ve realized. |
I wish that you were wrong and I was correct. I just refused to believe that a right that we all took for granted and supported by the majority of Americans would be stripped away. And I am no stranger to how crazy the anti abortion zealots are. When I was in college, I dated a guy who volunteered as an escort at the women’s clinic. So I knew just how unfeeling and unforgivable the crusaders were. I guess I thought the majority of elected republicans would not go along with this political kamikazi mission. I didn’t realize the elected republicans were no different than the people harassing women at health clinics. Turns out you were right all along. Thank you for the warnings although they were unheeded by many including myself. |
I wish I had just been an alarmist, too. But too many people get absolutely dazzled by “both sides” and want to believe that Democrats and Republicans are equally crazy. That’s what led to people, some fairly liberal/left wing, to vote for Trump (or Stein or write in Sanders) over Clinton, because at least Trump represented change, right!? We wouldn’t lose anything and maybe we’d come out ahead! |
|
If you’ve been voting for candidates that support a woman’s choice there is nothing to apologize for.
This has been decades of corruption in the making. |
From here on out, any Republican judicial nominee needs to be asked questions about their stance on every issue of concern to the left, the questions worded VERY SPECIFICALLY and NOT be allowed even one single inch of wiggle room in their answer, to absolutely and uncategorically nail them for perjury and bring indisputable cause for their immediate impeachment. |
The overturn of Roe v. Wade has proven that the right can not be given the benefit of doubt. Ever. |
That’s a pipe dream. Justices are allowed to change their minds. They’re allowed to be swayed by convincing arguments. How would you prove a Justice lied during their confirmation hearing versus arguments before the Court having changed their mind? |
You think they changed their mind about what they all said was settled precedent? My goodness. I have a beautiful bridge that’s for sale, by the way… |
Dp- of course not, but it doesn’t matter. It is near impossible to prove. First step should holding the court to an ethical standard. We can’t even seen to do that. |
I don't know, because it seems a leeetle suspicious they wrote a hundred law review articles about wanting to overturn Roe, suddenly forgot their whole jurisprudence during their hearing, then remembered that they wanted to overturn Roe immediately after getting confirmed. |
They didn't "change their minds" - they LIED. Any nominee tied to FedSoc or any similar organization should just be rejected outright. There's no trusting any of them any longer. That bridge is burned. |
